About You

The role will involve experimental work in the laboratory, data analysis and presentation, paper writing and customer facing activities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team. They will have good communication skills and will be expected to develop and demonstrate leadership in their scientific area. The successful candidate will be encouraged to independently solve problems in the laboratory as they arise and to manage their time ensuring timely delivery of research and commercial contracts for industrial and academic customers. 

The role will require a science or engineering-related degree, with specific knowledge and experience in polymer composite materials. Additional desirable skills and experience include strong data analysis and interpretation skills. 

Essential skills: 

  • Educated to degree level in engineering/science 

  • Experience in polymer composite materials processing and testing 

  • Strong data analysis / statistical skills 

  • Report writing skills 

  • Ability to manage your own workload 

  • Strong focus on quality and health and safety 

Desirable skills: 

  • The ability to produce creative ideas in a laboratory environment 

  • Scientific problem-solving skills 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively 

  • Customer focused attitude 

  • Programming in Python or MATLAB
