About the Role
  • Day to Day line management of team members delivering measurement services and projects across the group.
  • Management of project portfolio and contribute to resource allocation for smooth delivery
  • Develop, maintain, and manage multi point relationships within existing customer, new client organisations and potential partners or collaborators in order to strengthen the relationships with these organisations
  • Work with the science and engineering teams to maintain and develop infrastructure
  • Work with Quality Lead and Lab Manager to maintain quality assurance and H&S at the required standard
  • Work with Science Area Leader to identify training required for delivery of portfolio of Projects
About You

As well as delivering our measurement services to our customers, this role will also include managing the development of our existing and new facilities in order to meet our ambitious capability development goals in optical radiation metrology. You will work with the science and engineering teams delivering these projects, along with our supporting functions, to ensure they stay on track and within budget and that they are coordinated with other activities that utilise the instrumentation.

Technical Requirements:

  • Strong Line management Skills with previous experience is managing multiple research scientists of different seniorities.
  • In depth understanding of how science / engineering delivery works.
  • Currently holding a relevant science degree (chemistry, physics, or another associated discipline)
  • Previous experience of working in a research facility or even a laboratory environment.
  • Previous health and safety experience and knowledge within a similar environment is preferred.
  • Previous experience in working within an ISO17025 laboratory
