About the Role

Whether you’re talking about length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, amount or the brightness of light, the National Physical Laboratory sets the standards by which these things are all measured. As an organisation, we appreciate that change is essential to sustainable growth. As a Business Analyst, you’ll provide the data analysis and evaluation that helps us decide what ideas and innovations will bring us the greatest return, so that we’re always changing for the better. At NPL, we touch ordinary lives in extraordinary ways and you could too.

We’re constantly looking at ways to improve. You’ll analyse and audit data to highlight emerging trends and needs, then work with relevant stakeholders to decide which will add the greatest value and how we might go about it, formalising requirements, benefits and processes. You’ll then champion whatever change programme has been proposed, gaining buy-in across the business and producing progress reports to keep everyone on track. Responsible for driving best-practice, you’ll need to make sure your knowledge is always up-to-date. You’ll also support the transformation and change team as and when they need it.

About You

You’re a business analyst who’s worked on assessing and delivering a large number of transformation and change programmes. Commercially-astute, highly numerate and analytical, you’re also a great communicator who can influence others to bring about positive change.

You have experience with the IT systems development lifecycle and are skilled in the business analysis tools (user stories, use cases, business modelling, and process mapping). Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who’ll thrive in an environment like ours. At NPL, we learn from each other, respect each other and work together to do better.

For ourselves and for our customers. And whilst we’re always looking to stretch beyond what we know, we don’t make things more complicated when there’s no need. Together, we’re helping make the impossible, possible.

Please note:  Applications will be reviewed, and interviews conducted throughout the duration of this advert therefore we may at any time bring the closing date forward.  We encourage all interested applicants to apply as soon as practical.
