About the Role

NPL is looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Non-Executive Director and Chair of the NPL Audit and Risk Committee. 

As a Non-Executive Director and Chair, you will be joining a skilled and high-performing Board comprised of individuals with a wide range of professional backgrounds and lived experience. You will also partner with your fellow board members, the CEO and CFO and provide constructive support and challenge to the CFO.

 In this Non-Executive Director role, you can expect to:
  • Provide constructive, creative and informed challenges to support the executive management of NPL
  • Oversee monitoring and delivery by the executive team of NPL’s mission and the associated Corporate Plan
  • Participate actively in the decision-making processes of the Board 
As Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, you will chair four meetings each year, though additional meetings may be called Participate actively in the decision-making processes of the Board
Time Commitment: 18-20 days per year
Term: Three- year term with potential for reappointment for a further three years.
Remuneration: £13,500 pa 
About You

To succeed, you will need to be a qualified Accountant with a proven track record at the board level in a complex organisation and with previous experience directing or working as a member of an audit committee. You will also require the following:

  •  genuine passion for creating an inclusive environment that fosters diversity
  •  Ability to show evidence of excellent judgement and analytical ability
  • Respect for the government agenda and a willingness to learn
  • Proven ability to bring the Board a balance between customer and delivery focus and risk management
  • A professional qualification from a CCAB (or equivalent) recognised body
