Celsius Health is a new digital health company, on a mission to revolutionise the use of thermal imaging in healthcare. Celsius Health is unlocking a new area of opportunity for medical imaging diagnostics by making the use of precise thermal datasets fast and simple, and by combining the accuracy of medical thermometers with the power of thermal imaging. Ultimately, Celsius Health aims to save lives.

Celsius Health’s first clinically proven application is in the prevention of foot ulcers in diabetic patients. This could prevent 170 amputations a week in England alone, improve patient quality of life, reduce mortality rates and save multi-millions of pounds in health and social care costs.

As the UK’s National Physical Laboratory, we are finding new ways to realise the impact from our science and technology. As a spin-out from NPL, Celsius Health has exclusive access to years of NPL’s world-leading research and metrology in thermal imaging and temperature measurement.

Celsius Health and NPL are together seeking a CEO for Celsius Health to guide it through investment and launch and to realise its full potential.

As CEO, you’ll provide inspirational leadership for Celsius Health to deliver on its goals, ambitions and mission to launch and scale a digital health business. As CEO you will: 

  • Provide leadership to a new digital healthcare company, focussing on successful investment, launch, and scaling of the business.
  • Lead the company through funding rounds and equity negotiations.
  • Build a high-performing team of employees and a network of partners and stakeholders, using strategic relationships to harness the strengths of those around you to drive growth and multiply productivity.
  • Ensure the vision, mission and strategy of the company are each articulated and understood inside and outside the new organisation.
About You

You’re an inspirational leader with a passion, determination, and tenacity for achieving commercial success. You will have launched and built a technology business and you will bring your outstanding network and relationship-building skills to this role to drive and accelerate its routes to success.

Beyond that, we’re looking for someone who’ll thrive in an environment like ours. We learn from each other, respect each other, and work together to do better. And whilst we’re always looking to stretch beyond what we know, we don’t make things more complicated when there’s no need.  

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • The ability to develop a long-term strategic vision, innovate and create new revenue channels
  • Experience of leading successful investment in a start-up or spin-off organisation that has science and innovation at the core of its value
  • Experience of launching and scaling a new product family, expanding into new markets and territories to drive growth. Digital experience is desirable.
  • An exceptional leadership style and experience, with a proven track record of building successful high performing teams.
  • Strong personal values, integrity, and enthusiasm for societal impact; committed to leading an organisation with a strong sense of purpose
  • Proven commerciality and insatiable ability to translate opportunities into sales
  •  An action orientated attitude with capacity for acute focus on the end goal
  • An existing network of stakeholders to compliment your strong relationship and community building skills; you are able to galvanise others in pursuit of a common goal
  • Emotional intelligence and an ability to light up a room with your passion and determination
  • The ability to balance business strategy with financial performance
  • P&L responsibilities at CEO or another senior level
  • Experience in managing a Board of Directors and corporate stakeholders
  • Experience in either the medical diagnostics or digital health markets, while desirable is not essential if you bring other relevant experience to the role
