About the Role

In this role, you will join a small team working to maintain and disseminate the UK’s national electrical standards. This supports both the national electrical, electronic and instrumentation industry as well as other national measurement laboratories.

You will be working in the related areas of Voltage Resistance, Capacitance, Inductance and Voltage Ratio. Supported by some of the UK’s leading metrologists you will help deliver the current range of calibration activities and help develop and improve our measurement systems.

Research sits at the very core of our business. This is your chance to make an impact to our ground-breaking work as you apply your established knowledge and solutions to a range of technical activities. As we’re always looking to stretch our capabilities, we’ll look to you to spot potential commercial opportunities and to help raise our profile as and when you can. We work as a team here, so any learnings you do make, we’ll expect you to share to support in our continued development (you might also turn your hand to mentoring more junior members too). Naturally, you’ll keep your technical knowledge up-to-speed with the latest advances and take responsibility for completing your work to the highest standards, on time and within budget.
 
We are now working in a hybrid way, with a mix of remote and office working. About You

The role will require the use of a range of bespoke measurement systems so technical flexibility and familiarity of a laboratory environment is essential. Ideally you will have experience of electrical measurements, an understanding of operating under a quality system, and strong time management skills. A degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering or Physics is desirable although individuals from a wider technical background will be considered for the role. What is important is a love of electrical science and the drive to deliver electrical measurement to the highest level.
