About the Role

As a vital member of the UKTL team, you'll play a key role in implementing, managing, and maintaining our Linux-based platforms and services. Your work will ensure the stability and performance of our Linux environments, directly contributing to the success of our cutting-edge telecommunications solutions.

You will manage and maintain Linux-based systems, utilizing your expertise in Ubuntu and RHEL to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. You'll implement and manage open-source tools such as Puppet and Foreman to streamline automation processes. Additionally, you'll deploy and oversee Linux patching systems, ensuring seamless application management and distribution.

Your role will also involve providing guidance and support to team members on Linux-related issues, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment. You'll oversee the Linux VDi desktops for the Evaluation team and manage Linux-based services across various projects. Supporting diverse DUT stakes by deploying and managing Linux-based technologies effectively will also be part of your responsibilities.

A strong commitment to Health & Safety is essential, ensuring the well-being of yourself and your colleagues through adherence to best practices and direct instructions.

Successful Applicants must be able to commute to the UKTL offices in Birmingham at least twice a week

About You

To excel in this role, you must have strong experience with Linux systems administration, particularly with Ubuntu and RHEL.

Proficiency in automation tools, such as Puppet and Foreman, is essential for streamlining our processes.

A solid understanding of network and security protocols will enable you to maintain and secure our infrastructure effectively.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are crucial for diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities are necessary for collaborating with your colleagues and supporting the broader team.
