About the Role

Please note, this role is known internally as Engineer.

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Manufacturing Metrology Group. This group is based in Huddersfield and has a mission to provide confidence in measurement to manufacturing companies across the UK.

This is a permanent position in the group to assist in delivering our work around process monitoring and digitalisation in manufacturing processes.  This role is to support our research and development work in live industrial settings to support our customers with their manufacturing data. This is a growing area for the group, with excellent opportunities for development.

About You

Skills and experience that you can bring to the role:

  • familiarity with the design and setup of data acquisition systems in an industrial setting.
  • degree or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline.
  • Experience of prototyping in python or C for embedded systems or similar.
  • Open to working on data analysis as well as data acquisition.
  • Being comfortable with hands on working in an industrial environment.
  • strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of diverse teams.

We would also welcome the following:

  • Familiarity with a range of commonly used manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in working on quality or continuous improvement projects.
  • Knowledge of machine vision systems and analysis.
