As the IP Commercialisation  Manager you will be a senior member of the Commercial Directorate, responsible for maximising the impact of NPL’s Intellectual Properly portfolio. Driving long-term value creation and revenue growth through the definition and execution of NPL’s IP exploitation strategy, making commercial decisions for investment, selecting and managing appropriate partner relationships and leading the negotiation of Commercial license agreements.

About You
You will:
  • Have experience of creating and delivering Intellectual Property exploitation strategies.
  • Have experience of showcasing IP portfolios to generate external visibility
  • Have strong commercial skills, able to develop business cases that recognise operational business revenue, cost drivers, ROI and business risk. 
  • Be a skilled negotiator, able to select and shape the right commercial terms with exploitation partners in order to maximise growth.
  • Be able to build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new partners, managing those relationship to deliver your IP strategy.
  • Promote a strong focus on the needs of customers and partners
  • Accustomed to working effectively across teams, both internally - science, marketing, sales, finance, legal and externally - with your strategic partner network.
  • Have excellent line management and leadership skills - ability to inspire and motivate both your team and others you interact with
  • Be a strong and clear communicator. Confident working with technical and non-technical audiences with a variety of stakeholders at different levels of seniority and knowledge. 
  • Be a decision maker, able to recommend and agree solutions to complex problems, working with stakeholders to move forward. 

           A degree in science or engineering is preferred.
