About the Role

A senior member of the Technical delivery team, this role owns the test strategy and leads its implementation across all digital and technology delivery.  Accountable for the management of end-to-end test activities relating to all technology systems.

 

Key responsibilities

·         Leadership of the test function across all digital and technology delivery across NPL.

·         Develop and champion test strategy, testing standards, procedures and relevant plans

·         Ensure that quality is being built into the service by providing Quality Assurance leadership to the product/application teams, encouraging everyone to thing about “quality” 

·         Act as a point of escalation for test teams and mitigates project risks with Project Managers and stakeholders

·         Design and manage testing activities across System Integration, User Acceptance, Penetration, Operational Readiness and Post Implementation Testing

·         Incorporate and manage testing against functional and non-functional requirements using both automated and manual testing methods

·         Ensure visibility, traceability, and control of testing process to deliver high-quality software products

·         Support management of Test Environments

·         Ensure the team have access to the relevant people, test tools and frameworks 

·         Ensure collaboration through partnership with the development, infrastructure and support teams across all technology departments.

·         Lead Test engagement with 3rd parties where project delivery is highly reliant on outsourced teams

·         Mentor the testing community and share testing principles and best practise across NPL.

·         Engage with internal and external testing communities to ensure they learn from, and contribute to, developing industry practices.

About You
  • Proven leadership and capability to define best practise in Test management within the test function across a diverse portfolio of projects
  • Experienced in managing team resources in terms of capability and capacity to align with fluctuating delivery needs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technology stack and testing suites, ideally including Azure DevOps
  • Detailed knowledge of both manual and automated testing methods
  • Able to communicate defects or trends clearly to software developers, outlining how defects are identified and possible causes
  • Able to engage stakeholders at all levels of seniority across the organisation
  • Good knowledge of technology, infrastructure and systems including ERP/CRM, such as MS Dynamics 365
  • Project Management experience including planning, resource allocation and prioritisation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active in the testing community and holds current testing certification  (desirable)
