About You

We are growing our team of multi-disciplined scientists and engineers to provide technical leadership on projects and initiatives that guide the next generation of technologies, all the way from new scientific innovations to providing test and evaluation services for industry. 

Responsibilities will include one or more of: 

  • Leadership ability both in terms of your technical knowledge and managing a small team of scientists and engineers. You will be expected have good customer facing skills and contribute to applying for funding and exhibiting leadership in their technical area and potentially staff management of a small team

  • PhD, undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in physics, engineering, electronic engineering, systems engineering hardware development or software development

  • Work experience within an engineering, research and development, or software/hardware development environment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing your time according to priorities

  • A rigorous approach to problem solving and ability to develop solutions to difficult problems

  • An inquisitive mind and willingness to interact dynamically within a team

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Working closely with the whole team to develop high-specification solutions and instrumentation

  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders in order to determine their needs and manage expectations.

  • Generating the system requirements, based on user needs and taking into account technical constraints and programme budget.

  • Programming experience: LabView, MatLab and Python are preferable
