About the Role
Whether you’re talking about length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, amount or the brightness of light, the National Physical Laboratory sets the standards by which these things are all measured. As an organisation we’re doing so many great things.  As our Corporate Communications Specialist, you’ll focus on communicating our cutting edge science and engineering across a variety of channels. At NPL, we touch ordinary lives in extraordinary ways and you could too. 
 
You’ll plan and manage the delivery of a wide range of communication projects, engage with colleagues across the organisation, and create interesting and engaging content that presents our work to our customers and stakeholders, raising our profile and increasing our engagement with our key audiences. You will ensure that everything is delivered to the highest quality, within cost and to deadline. You will work closely with colleagues across the Marketing and Communications team to deliver integrated communication campaigns and programmes utilising general marketing skills, drafting web pages (content and structure), marketing emails, intranet stories, organising speakers and events, project planning, reporting, digital social media, and public relations.
About You

With a background in corporate communications, you have plenty of creative flair and the drive to get things done. Good organisation skills, meticulous attention to detail and a commercial awareness are all must-haves. You also need excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong copywriting and editing skills. Experience of working within a science, engineering or technology is important, and you will need to demonstrate a keen interest in science and engineering.
