About the Role

Join NPL to design and deliver a quality data migration service at the heart of a major digital transformation.  NPL has an ambitious vision for our digital transformation and the difference it can make to our work and real world impact.

NPL are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to migrate legacy data from Zellis HR systems and Oracle based HR systems into Dynamics 365.

You should have experience with working in a fast paced Agile environment with weekly iterations and weekly playbacks to help with the ETL life cycle.  The role requires skills to handle the entire data migration process, comprising of extraction from legacy systems to Azure SQL,  data transformation on Azure SQL staging tables and finally the creation of CSV exports from staging tables to load into HR D365 via MS Life cycle services.

You will be expected to collect and manage questions raised by each migration cycle into the D365 HR system to help the business workshop their data into the best format, assisting the business with de-duplicating, altering enumerations and mapping data from the legacy system.

Ability to track, report and feedback progress to the business and PM (Scrum Master and Product Owner) is essential.

 
This is a 12 month FTC
About You

 moYour key skills are:

  • D365 HR package knowledge
  • Experience with SQL Azure
  • Experience with writing SQL and staging tables to convert SQL data formats and re map enumerated types.
  • Life cycle service to load CVS files into D365
  • Excellent communication skills, and confidence to workshop issues / questions about the data with the business users
  • Collaboration and knowledge transfer across the wider delivery teams

You ideally will also have:

  • Ability to QA other SQL coders SQL for accuracy using TOAD or SQL Developer connected to Oracle
  • Familiarity with Azure Data Factory (to automate CSV files exported from an Oracle HR system & from Zellis into Azure SQL DB)
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps to manage your tasks effectively
