Reporting to an HR Business Partner, this is a true business partnering role where you'll help shape the people agenda to make a significant impact on the organisation, driving success through people initiatives  to ensure that NPL delivers against its mission, vision and values. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with areas of the business to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of HR (or area of specialism) to support business capability and improve individual/team performance.
  • Build trusted relationships with people managers and coach them to have effective conversations to maintain a high-performance culture.
  • Work within the agreed framework in partnership with specialist HR functions, promote and support engagement, talent management, resourcing, workforce management, team wellbeing, D&I, L&D initiatives and build a high-performance culture.
  • Assist in the identification, development and implementation of new HR services, processes and offerings to contribute to continuous improvement and the changing requirements of the business and statutory requirements.
  • Advise and support customers in the correct implementation of the organisation's people processes and procedures.
  • As the subject matter expert on all ER/policy issues, provide expert advice to defined business areas and act as a mentor to HR colleagues when required.
  • Support delivery of the People Strategy, taking ownership of specific allocated projects, ensuring effective delivery and implementation to agreed timescales
  • Use management information to give informed advice based on HR analytics and business metrics
  • Ensure NPL’s interactions with its employees are fair, in line with agreed process and legally compliant, across all employment touch points and to mitigate risks
  • Responsible for taking reasonable duty of care for Health & Safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work and always follow direct instructions given with regards to Health & Safety.
About You

With experience in a similar role, you will be accustomed to providing pragmatic and commercially focused support on a number of projects simultaneously. You’ll be adept at organising your own workload and adapting to priority changes.

You’ll have demonstrable hands on experience from within a similar role. Including, solid knowledge of various people disciplines including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Change Management, Absence Management, Talent Management, Workforce Planning, Diversity, Engagement Activities and Organisational Effectiveness.

With a CIPD qualification, you will have maintained up to date technical expertise in employee relations and employment law.  You’ll be a subject matter expert and have the ability to share your legally sound knowledge with line managers and the wider HR team.

You will be able to influence and challenge management at all levels and execute with excellence and in line with the NPL values.

A good communicator with strong analytical skills, you instinctively get what needs to be achieved and have the skill to make it happen, by driving the people interventions.

Proficient MS Office and collaboration tools is desirable.
