About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Scientist or Scientist to join the Measurement Services team within NPL’s Dimensional Metrology Group.

The Dimensional Metrology Group is a world leader in delivering dimensional measurements, together with research and development of new techniques and novel instruments.  We focus on the measurement of 'length' – including distance, displacement, position, dimensions, size, area, volume and surface texture – over length scales from picometres to hundreds of metres.  We support a wide range of industrial and research sectors in conforming to precise dimensional requirements by providing the fundamental length measurement infrastructure for the UK, ‘realising’ the metre, and disseminating the length scale to users across the UK and beyond.

You’ll join our knowledgeable and friendly team of engineering measurement professionals and be expected to carry out measurement and calibration services for a range of customers.

You'll be accountable for:

  • Operating measurement equipment
  • Reporting results
