Public Sector Affairs Manager

Join NPL as a Public Sector Affairs Manager to manage our government and public sector engagement activity, working closely with our policy engagement team.

NPL undertakes excellent science and engineering to deliver extraordinary impact for the UK and provide the measurement capability that underpins the UK's prosperity and quality of life. As a part of delivering this impact we work with governments and agencies to inform better policy development and delivery.

In this role you will develop and deliver a programme of proactive and impactful stakeholder engagement across government, the public sector and the wider science and technology landscape, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within NPL and externally.

You will also have the opportunity to lead a team that delivers a programme of external engagements, including visits, meetings and events. You will also champion the knowledge, skills and experience associated with public-sector stakeholder engagement across NPL.

•  It is essential that you have experience in managing engagement projects and programmes across government and public sector organisations, including the science, innovation and technology ecosystem.
•  You will be a skilled communicator, able to understand and analyse complex stakeholder landscapes and brief senior colleagues on developments.
•  You will be experienced in developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and in supporting colleagues in their relationships with senior officials in Government and the public sector.
• You will be able to manage a small team, and also work across teams to deliver programmes or work in public sector engagement.
• It’s an advantage if you have knowledge or experience in industry standard CRM systems such as Salesforce.
