    We’re seeking a talented and experienced IT Asset Manager to join our team. The role will be responsible for the management of hardware and software assets across NPL’s technology estate, overseeing all activities that optimise the value, cost and risk of the asset lifecycle. Working with colleagues, you will have responsibility for managing and monitoring software compliance and the development, management, and maintenance of NPL's IT hardware and software Asset Registers. 

    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT Hardware Asset Register ensuing that all IT Assets across the organisation have been captured and are actively managed.
    • Develop and support the software and IT hardware governance processes and procedures across the business to improve the data, better exploit the assets and deliver benefits and savings. 
    • Populate and maintain a hardware and software contract and Asset Management database with all relevant information on the licenses and contracts. 
    • Monitor and manage hardware and software assets to ensure the required information is captured and is current and correct and provides a single source of truth ensuring accurate recording and reporting of all IT assets. 
    • Provide expert support to IT Asset related projects across the organisation ensuring that best practice Asset Management processes are adopted.
    • Manage software compliance and license utilisation to ensure the most effective software licence agreements are achieved and that the company is not in breach of its licence agreements. 
    • Manage the software onboarding process effectively by triaging software requests and providing approvals after reviewing the licence position. 
    • Build and manage customer and external stakeholder relationships that will support NPL’s ability to deliver its mission, its reputation and remain sustainable. 
    • Undertake audits of hardware and software assets as required, providing regular reports to management on compliance to minimise the risk to the business

  • About You

  •  

    Key experience, knowledge and skills:  

    • Expert understanding of the Hardware and Software Asset Management Lifecycle and experience in all aspects of Hardware and Software Asset Management
    • Familiarity with using Hardware and Software Asset Management tools and IT Service Management Systems (e.g. SNOW, Freshworks)
    • Experienced in building and maintaining a comprehensive Asset Register and proficient in automation and useof Asset Discovery tools (e.g. SNOW, SCCM)
    • Experience of software licence management and of undertaking software support renewals ensuring that software purchases are cost optimised
    • Experienced in undertaking IT Asset audits ensuring that IT Assets are fully accounted for.
    • Experienced in IT Asset Procurement and secure Asset Disposal practices.
