Successful candidates will join a state-of-the-art facility and be supporting the team conducting testing and research on the latest technologies and innovations in the industry.
As a Senior Security Advisor, and a member of the UKTL Team, you will be responsible fordeliveringsecurity solutions across the physical environment and ensuring the security posture across the facility remainscommensurate to the risk. The role willensure the overall security, safety and resilience of the facility, its people,and reputation.
As a member of the UKTL Team, this role is responsible for delivering personnel and physical security services, ensuring UKTL adopts an effective and proportionate Security posture.
Key responsibilities
- Support the UKTL Leadership in maintaining a secure operating environment, ensuring the security posture of the facility remains commensurate to the risks at all times.
- Act as the principle point of contact for security matters at the facility.
- Maintain security awareness and culture across the UKTL workforce, delivering training and briefings, as necessary.
- Provide governance and oversight of physical security standards at the UKTL Facility, ensuring UKTL meet DSIT and other accreditation obligations.
- Plan, deliver & review internal security assurance audits to identify non-compliance, across physical security making practical recommendations.
- Work in partnership with the UKTL Cyber Security team to ensure a joined up and holistic approach to Security risk management.
- Conduct security investigations where vulnerabilities or procedural failings are identified and collate and present statistical data to monitor standards and develop improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the wider security team, estates, third party contractors, and relevant government agencies.
- Develop operational procedures to address gaps in security performance in line with the security strategy.
- Report and communicate non-compliance and provide guidance and support to comply.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base of known and emerging threats to UKTL with relevant indicators & warnings to inform risk management strategies.
- The post holder will be responsible for out of hours incident response and key holder duties and therefore must be located no more than 1 hour commute of the Facility
Successful Applicants must be able to commute to the UKTL offices in Birmingham with the possibility of hybrid working.
