    The Project Management office is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to work across our diverse Science and Engineering department.

    As a Senior Project Manager you will be organised, business-savvy and with great communication skills, you’re a natural influencer who’s able to manage projects in a positive way. Beyond that, we’re looking for people who’ll thrive in an environment like ours.   • About You

    • A track record of successfully leading and managing R&D or commercial projects for multiple stakeholders across an organisation. 
    • Managing change within projects and communicating to a wide range stakeholder across the business. 

    • Managing risks and issues within projects and coordinating mitigation actions between stakeholders of all levels. 

    • Project budgeting and forecasting experience. 

    • Reporting to project stakeholders and customers within agreed deadlines. 

    • Experience in demonstrating responsibility for managing expectations of stakeholders and the perception of the project within, and outside of, the organisation. 

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information, tailored to a specific audience. 

    • Experience in developing and applying project management processes and tools, and a willingness to continually improve. 

    • Security cleared or able to apply is essential for this role. 

    • Ability to travel within UK.
     

    The desirables:  

    • Demonstrable experience of working within a PMO environment.
    • Experience in bids and developing and winning projects would be an advantage. 

    • Knowledge of public sector procurement processes would be an advantage. 

    • Experience of contract management  

    • Proficiency in MS Project 

    • PRINCE2/APM PMQ project management qualification
